The "Ristafallet Café" is located on a hill above the Ristafall. In summer you can hear its roar from the terrace. Here you have a fantastic view over the river and the valley. In winter you can even admire one of the ice grottos from the terrace. The cozy café offers many home-baked specialties such as snail noodles, carrot cake, chocolate cake and waffles with jam and cream.

Director Tage Danielsson shot parts of his film “Ronja the Robber’s Daughter” with Hanna Zetterberg in the title role here. The Swedish-Norwegian film from 1984 is based on the children's book of the same name by Astrid Lindgren. It was shown for the first time in Germany in February 1985 at the Berlinale, where it received a special prize for a "film of particular imagination". The endearingly optimistic, funny and exciting adventure fairy tale can occasionally be seen on television as a three-part miniseries.

A dense forest of bearded trees grows around the waterfall. The ground is covered with moss. It's easy to imagine ugly trolls and beautiful fairies among the trees. The area around Tännforsen is unusual due to the uniform and high humidity that the fog from the rapids creates. The area is therefore home to rare and very special plants and animals.
