Although you can arrive by plane or your own yacht if you're on a bike ride it's likely that you'll arrive on Sanday here on the Orkney Ferries boat from Kirkwall. There is normally at least one daily ferry crossing and a return in the late afternoon or evening. The crossing takes a bit less than 1.5hrs. An adult return is a bit less than £11 and bikes are carried for free (prices in Oct 2022).
