The fourth tower of Ghent is a modernist masterpiece by the Belgian architect Henry van de Velde.
The 64 meter high concrete building has 24 floors. It was conceived from the start as a university library and continues to fulfill that role to this day. More than three million books are housed there.
University and government are investing in a sustainable renovation, which should be completed in 2021.
