In Hornbostel, a stork's nest has been used annually since 1999 on the chimney of the former Segelke bakery at Helene-Segelke-Platz. Over the years, this spot has become a permanent breeding site. A male stork has been returning reliably for over 15 years, accompanied by a female that has also been nesting at the same location for more than a decade.

The Hüttensee has always been a beautiful place. There are an incredible number of birds to see here. Unfortunately, the surrounding forest has currently been heavily cleared. Unfortunately, no one can compete with money and that's why a well-known wood dealer has struck here too.
