The game reserve has been around for a long time (over 40 years) and is located at the new forestry lodge in Gevelsberg. If you drive or walk up the forest road to the end you will come out on Meininghausen in Ennepetal.

From the clearing there is a great view towards the Ruhr area. If the weather is good you can see the Schalke Arena clearly and from there you can go along Asker Straße towards Gevelsberg Stadtwald or towards Voerde to the Volkssternwarte or the Hasper Dam. There are one or two nice single trailers off the wide forest paths, but they are not always easy to find. But the forest area is great for biking
