The Hochheim vineyards are world-famous and beautiful. When Riesling from Germany was the most sought-after and expensive wine in the world during the Victorian era (mid to late 19th century) (even ahead of Burgundy and Bordeaux), it was also the latest "craze" in England. Due to the German roots of the English royal family and the connections to Hochheim, "Hochheimer" became synonymous with German Riesling. Since the English tended to pronounce "ch" as "k", "Hochheimer" quickly became "Hockheimer" and ultimately a short form "the Hock". Hock is still a fixed term in English traditional wine bars today.

Wanderers reach this small hill via 21 steps, mountain bikers find their way up (or down again) via two steep trails. In any case, a small highlight, a change here in the forest.

In the 16th century, it was considered the most beautiful square in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, and even today it remains a popular photo subject in Frankfurt – the Römerberg. Its name derives from the house "Zum Römer," which has housed the town hall since the 15th century. The town hall complex comprises several buildings with Gothic stepped gables and houses the famous Imperial Hall with portraits of all 52 emperors of the Holy Roman Empire; from 1612 onward, coronation banquets were held here. The Fountain of Justice in the square is also an important landmark.

In March 1944, the old town of Frankfurt am Main was destroyed in a bombing raid. 75 years later, there is a new old town quarter: 35 houses, 15 of which are faithful reconstructions of the original and 20 new buildings of architectural and artisanal quality form the new district. In some cases, even preserved parts of the original houses were used. The new Frankfurt Old Town, with its mix of apartments, shops, cafés, restaurants, and museums, is a popular meeting place for citizens and city guests alike. On this site also lies the Archaeological Garden with excavations from the Roman occupation period. In 2019, the Frankfurt Old Town won the international MIPIM Award in Cannes.
