Steady climb with lovely views of the valley. Bothy is usually busy over weekends so if you're keen to stay there without company, head up midweek outside peak season. Otherwise, embrace the spirit of what you set out to do and share an evening with a fellow bothy fan!

Can be very boggy out of the summer months, lovely gentle climb, technical in parts but the views make up for it. Ride the full distance and you literally see the BB National park drop away into the plain below.

Permission for access sought and rarely is actually granted by the farmer who claims that only he owns the land and he doesn’t welcome your average walker neither does he welcome any members of public especially if they have no permission to do so if caught be aware that this farmer is not the happiest of person when he discovers that there are trespassers who have not asked for his permission to actually be on his land even though it clearly states on ordnance survey and there is a 100% ROW path and states that there is a public footpath leading up there but has it is and that I’ve discovered its not only mapped but its officially been there for a number centuries I believe actually printed this proof and pinned it to my device to show the farmer that the law states there’s a public footpath and a right of way but sadly he refuses.
