An ancient, flat boundary stone at the center of a crossroads, today one of the more than 300 knight's stones of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV). A bench is within sight. The Schwörstein bears NO boundary markers, as these were located on a (loog) tree next to it (which no longer exists). "Here once ran the border between the Upper or 1st Haingeraide and the Middle or 2nd Haingeraide [= various forest cooperatives of the surrounding villages]. [...] At the Schwörstein, since around 1560, the foresters of the Haingeraide were once again sworn in to the protection of the forest." Source (partially quoted verbatim): "Knight's Stones in the Palatinate Forest," book by Walter Eitelmann, self-published by the Palatinate Forest Association, Neustadt (Wstr.)

The spring was tapped to supply drinking water to the hut. The overflow feeds a small fish pond under the well.
