A lovely seating area at an idyllic crossroads (with a small meadow); somewhat dated; one of the few rest stops on this section of the "Wild Boar Trail";
according to the sign: "built and donated by the Gräfenhausen Pensioners' Group"

Here is a frame, which directs the view on Gräfenhausen and the village binds picturesquely.

The Eußerthal monastery is a former Cistercian abbey, unfortunately only the front part of the former monastery church remains. Today it serves as a parish church. The monastery was founded in 1148, the year in which the valley of the Eußerbach was reclaimed. The monastery was placed under imperial protection by Frederick I Barbarossa in 1186 and many vineyards belonged to the monastery through donations. The village gradually developed and due to the dissatisfaction of the farmers, the monastery was plundered and set on fire in the 15th century, but was later rebuilt. The monastery church of St. Bernhard, which is still largely preserved, impresses with its sublime Romanesque stained glass windows and the simple architecture that is typical of Cistercian monasteries. The history of the monastery can be traced here using display boards. Concerts are regularly held in the beautiful church. The acoustics are excellent.
