The falls is very busy, but it is beautiful. Like most falls it's amazing to see in the different times of year, especially winter with a good snow fall. This falls keeps going during the winter.

Dogs are generally welcome on most trails in St. Croix County's state parks, including Willow River and Interstate State Park, provided they are on a leash no longer than 8 feet. However, they are typically not permitted in picnic areas, on beaches, or inside buildings. Always check the specific park's regulations before you go.

Most trails in the state parks are well-maintained natural surface paths. Some popular routes, like the St. Croix River Crossing Loop, are paved. Trails can become muddy after rain, and in winter, they may be snow-covered or icy, making microspikes or snowshoes a good idea. Always check local conditions before heading out.

Hiking is possible year-round, but late spring, summer, and fall are the most popular seasons. Autumn is particularly beautiful when the fall foliage along the St. Croix River Valley is at its peak. Summer offers lush green scenery, while winter provides opportunities for snowshoeing on the trails.
