The Wevelgem cemetery is not a traditional churchyard, but a true landscape park. In 2020, the project won the Arthur Olivier Prize, a West Flemish provincial award presented every five years for projects that enhance public heritage, primarily through planting.
Arthur Olivier (1892-1956), to whom the award is a tribute, was a West Flemish provincial council member and farmer.
