These historical remains were incorporated into the park's design. The Flemish Land Agency (VLM) built a meticulous reconstruction, perhaps the first of its kind in Flanders. The concrete layer for the reconstruction, constructed by the German occupiers, was left intact. Thus, the past remains tangible and visible in the park.
