What a great area! Architecture showcasing the old dock warehouses, renovated and brought up to date, and actually used as homes and public spaces. Enjoy walking through the cobbled streets and taking plenty of photos of the bridges between the buildings, playing with light and color. Walk to the front of the Thames and enjoy what is probably the best view of London's Tower Bridge. Stop for food and refreshments at one of the many waterfront restaurants and cafes. Access either via London Bridge station or via the Tower Hill tube (cross the bridge and turn left). A must-see!

Wow, what an amazing place! We loved seeing all the bridges and the fold-out pulleys on the walls next to the bridges. We could almost imagine it when everything was in operation.
This is something we haven't seen anywhere else, and we're really glad we got to see it for ourselves.

Shad Thames is a road on the south bank of the River Thames, starting at Tower Bridge and running alongside former warehouses. Nearby are Tower Bridge, Blackfriars Bridge, and Albert Bridge, all of which cross the Thames. The Thames Gateway Bridge was a road bridge project that never came to fruition.
