This farm was owned by the same Kemerlinckx family for centuries, just like the ‘Nieuwe Hoeve Kemerlinckx’ a little further down the Hanenstraat. Archival research shows that Peeter Kemerlinckx (1689-1776) moved to the farm around 1728 with his wife Anna Maria Vaes and family from Neerlinter, where he was alderman in 1725, 1731 and 1736. The Villaret map (circa 1745) shows a quasi-closed complex with a U-shaped volume facing the street that is open to the north and a detached northern volume. However, the initial construction phase of the farm is unknown.
