The former Wentorf Castle is a multi-part complex. The oval main castle, measuring 63 meters long and 35 meters wide, rises 5 to 10 meters above the still-damp surroundings. A low rampart once encircled the main castle. Wide ditches separate it from an outer bailey to the east and a promontory to the west.
Around 1900, stone packing, charcoal, bones, pottery shards, and iron tools were excavated at the main castle. Further finds were recovered during regular inspections of the castle.
