So named after the star-shaped construction of oak and beech avenues that lead to the castle; located in the middle of an extensive forest with deciduous trees, firs, pond and surrounding agricultural area, bordered by the Nieuwmoersesteenweg. Reclamation and construction of the property date from 1858-67 and following: During that period, Louis Laurent Delehaye purchased 425 hectares of wasteland on which he experimented with model agricultural exploitation for thirty years. His son had a castle built in 1877, which was probably demolished afterwards. The current castle dates from 1898 and was enlarged around 1906.
