The famous morning concerts once took place in the garden hall of Augarten Palace, the current location of the famous Augarten porcelain factory. Mozart, Beethoven and Franz Schubert had a musical rendezvous here.

Hiking
Joseph II. set significant accents in the Augarten: Initially, he expanded the grounds with considerable plots of land, so that the Augarten extended to the present-day Castellezgasse. Thus, the present-day Augartenpalais (today the seat of the Boys' Choir) also came into the possession of the court. This Palais had been built at the end of the 17th century as Gartenpalais Leeb, and in the style of Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. On April 30, 1775, Joseph II. made the Augarten accessible to the public.
