This bridge is now closed to all with no way of crossing because of high fences. It will be closed for at least another year. Quite a pain for us in Barnard Castle as this is the best and quietest way to go east

Cycling
Opened in 1831 and still supported on its original chains. Grade II* Listed Structure and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The bridge crosses the River Tees near Barnard Castle.
