In addition to a beautiful mixed forest, there is also a huge hiking dune to admire. The original dune was partly afforested, but the remaining sand area is considerable.
The Warwer Sand is part of the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park and is a popular, but mostly not overcrowded local recreation area.
