Hiking

The fountain was erected in the 16th century. It replaced the even older "Eichbrunnen" (oak fountain) of the city at this location. In the Early Modern Period, it served the population as a central source of indispensable drinking water and as an important fire-fighting water well during city fires. A figure of the sea god Neptune, flanked by a dolphin and a Brackenheim coat of arms, sits enthroned on the column.

Hiking

The Röhrbrunnen in Brackenheim's city center dates back to the 16th century. It was important as a well for firefighting and drinking water. In 1731, the fountain was renovated and received a Neptune statue with a dolphin and Brackenheim's coat of arms.
There is also a coat of arms on the well trough. Here it is recognizable that the Bracke (dog) has a lead (dog leash). This coat of arms was current around 1820 and is one of the coats of arms distributed throughout the city, showing the changes of the Bracke over time.
