Hiking

There is a small nature reserve just next to the Peerderloop at exactly this location. It is owned by environmental association Werkgroep Isis. The intention is to remove all poplars and restore the seepage zones with the associated flora and fauna. There is no walking path. The ground is already quite boggy and nature is doing its work. In the Twee-Schoors nature reserve, which is located along the Peerderloop, there are several plots with poplar plantations. Nature management wants to remove the poplars here. Since these plots have already been spontaneously colonized by species native to the region, some seepage zones will only be mowed open annually, so that typical plants such as the marsh marigold are given every opportunity again.
