The Henraux Quarries are located on Monte Altissimo, a mountainous relief belonging to the chain of the Apuan Alps that dominates the whole of Upper Versilia. Consisting mainly of high quality marble, it still hosts several quarries on its slopes, including the famous Cava delle Cervaiole, first used by Michelangelo Buonarroti since 1517, for its particularly white marble.
