Hiking

Dane-in-Shaw Pasture is a beautiful nature reserve and one of few remaining unimproved grasslands in the country. The Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is home to flower species including common spotted-orchid, bluebells, ox-eye daisy, meadowsweet, yellow rattle, black knapweed, Devil’s-bit scabious, meadow buttercup, and many others. You also observe many different birds, insects and mammals here. Keep a look-out for kingfishers and dragonflies.

Pure scenic peace and tranquillity at every turn. Dane-in-Shaw pasture really does have a magical ambience; nestled below the backdrop of a majestic looking viaduct. Well worth including on your route.
