This village located in the heart of the Burdinale-Mehaigne Natural Park is part of a group of municipalities. In 1952 the village of Vissoul merged with it.

A large campsite is located at Oteppe Castle within this town.

Since 1965, the Oteppe castle and its surrounding estate (65 ha) have been run as a holiday centre ("L'Hirondelle") with a hotel, campsite, holiday chalets and bungalows, swimming pools, playground and fishing ponds; as a result, the village's population has almost doubled during the summer months.

Its neo-Gothic architecture, with its elegant towers and ornate facades, makes it a historical and aesthetic jewel of the region.
