    There's a layby at the side of this road which gives you the best view of Alnwick Castle from the outside. A couple of hundred yards down the hill is the famous Lion Bridge, much beloved of wedding couples.

    There is a a layby you can stop in to take a picture or if you go a little further down you come to the Lion Bridge which gives you a beautiful picture of the Bridge River and Castle. This is a narrow bridge so if you stop on the Bridge go onto the path to make room with cars passing.
