The single-nave chapel with five bay windows, picturesquely situated next to the elevated Scheldede dike, is a real eye-catcher. A chapel of the same name was mentioned here as early as 1328. The turmoil of religious unrest in the years 1579-1580 did not pass it by without consequences and it was not until the beginning of the 17th century that believers repaired it.

The chapel is a good example of a rural place of worship. A chapel is said to have already been mentioned in 1328.
During the religious troubles in 1579-1580 the chapel was damaged.
The chapel was only restored at the beginning of the 17th century
In 1845 the chapel was recorded as "Chap.(elle) St.-Onolfs".
Last century, the chapel was renovated in the period 1975-1979.
