Butler's Retreat is a Grade II listed building at Rangers Road, Chingford, London E4. Originally a barn thought to have been built in the early 19th century, it is one of the few remaining Victorian retreats within the forest.

If you're into history, then this is worth a visit. Built in 1543 for Henry VIII, "explore the Tudor kitchen, see the stairs which legend says Queen Elizabeth rode her horse up. Dressing up clothes, a quiz trail and brass rubbings are available for children. The View visitors centre is next-door.
