St. Mark's Church was built as a basilica in the early 13th century and remodeled into its current form as a three-aisled Gothic hall church from around 1430 to 1520. This Hessian cultural monument now serves as the parish church of the Protestant St. Mark's Church congregation. Its inventory includes a Romanesque baptismal font from the first half of the 13th century and the landgravial crypt from 1620–1622. The organ case by Georg Wagner, dating from 1614, is the second oldest surviving one in Hesse. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markuskirche_(Butzbach)

From 1879 to 2004, the district court was located here. Today, the castle houses medical practices.
