The thousand-year-old town of Nabburg boasts a mighty city wall with fortified towers and gates. In the historic old town, you'll find many significant Romanesque and Gothic buildings, as well as this charming inn. Built around 1500, the inn stands in the heart of the historic old town. In 1711, it was granted the so-called tavern license, meaning it was permitted to operate an inn with overnight accommodations, and has been family-owned since 1898. These overnight accommodations are still offered to guests today in newly renovated, very nicely furnished guest rooms. https://www.gasthof-zum-stern-nab.de/de/ueber_uns/geschichtefindest du vieleindest du

The town of Nabburg in the Schwandorf district is an impressive example of a naturally evolved urban landscape that seamlessly blends history and the present. Nabburg was already known as an important market and administrative center in the Middle Ages. Its location on the Naab River and along ancient trade routes made it a regional hub. Even today, the remnants of the city walls, gates, and historic buildings shape the townscape and tell of its long tradition as a fortified town. The old town, with its narrow streets, townhouses, and churches, conveys an authentic picture of Upper Palatinate urban history. Nabburg is a town that doesn't hide its past but proudly displays it. Walking through the old town, one can sense the layers of history – from medieval walls to modern uses. It is precisely this connection between tradition and the present that makes Nabburg a place that fosters identity while remaining open to new ideas. https://www.nabburg.de/tourismus-kultur/auf-einen-blick/sehenswuerdigkeiten/

The medieval town of Nabburg, with its architecture, offers a glimpse into times long past. The historic old town and the almost completely intact town wall, with its Mähntor and Obertor gates, are landmarks of the town's medieval importance. The Dean's Tower, the Old Town Hall, the Citizens' Hospital, the parish church, the Powder Tower, the castle courtyard, the Schmidt House, and the Zehenstadel (tithe barn) are further testaments to the past. It's well worth taking a leisurely stroll through the town. A large part of Nabburg's old town is a listed historical monument. Virtually every building here is worth seeing. A walk through the Lower and Upper Market Squares to the 13th-century Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist, the Gothic Obertor gate, and Nabburg Castle is highly recommended. A beautiful walking path also leads along the town wall outside the town, offering magnificent views of the Naab Valley. https://de.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Nabburg https://www.nabburg.de/tourismus-kultur/auf-einen-blick/sehenswuerdigkeiten/#historische-altstadt

The Naabtalradweg runs under this bridge. It would be great if this bridge were converted into a cycle path and became part of the Bayrisch-Böhmischer Freundschaftsradweg. Of course, the path should then also continue and not end in a dead end.

If you are travelling on the route between Brensdorf and Wölsendorf, you should definitely stop for a moment and enjoy the view over the Naab. These viewpoints offer a quiet and picturesque backdrop, perfect for a short break. Whether for taking photos or just relaxing - this place invites you to enjoy nature and unwind. Unfortunately there is a road there, but it is not very busy. Tip: Particularly beautiful on sunny days when the clouds are reflected in the water.
