Maasland Baroque: The elongated main building (left) shows the typical architectural style of the Maasland Renaissance in the Pays de Herve. Characteristic of this style is the alternation of red bricks with light-coloured window sills and cornerstones made of regional limestone (blue stone). The farm gate of 1663: The chiseled keystone above the wooden gate entrance testifies that this part of the estate was built in the mid-17th century, during the Baroque period.

Special features of the church: The massive defensive tower: The sturdy church tower made of local rubble stone is the oldest preserved part of the structure. It bears an engraved year from 1627. This tower survived the severe earthquake of 1692, which destroyed almost the entire surrounding village and the original castle. The nave of the church: After the earthquake, the adjacent three-aisled main building was rebuilt between 1703 and 1725 in the elegant Maasland Renaissance style using brick and limestone. Due to the stately dimensions of the main hall, the older tower on the front appears almost a bit squat. Historic cemetery: The church is surrounded by an old stone wall, into which numerous historical grave crosses from the 17th and 18th centuries are embedded.

Built in 1738 in a striking, slender, vertical style, adapted to the narrow streets. Here too, a large cellar opening onto the street. Many houses of that period had one. This indicated an additional activity, such as a small forge in the cellars where nails were made, for which the village was also known. The cloth industry also took place in the large natural stone building with a courtyard across the street.

Church that was already mentioned in 1692. Except for the tower, it was destroyed in September 1692 and rebuilt in 1725.

Hiking trail no. 44 (sentier n° 44) leads you through a beautiful part of Herve, showcasing all aspects of the bocage landscape. It crosses agricultural strips and meadows via turnstiles, descending briefly into the source area of the Bola river. It crosses cleared cornfields, easy now, perhaps more adventurous in summer.
