An der Mühle 30 18311 Ribnitz-Damgarten +49 (0)3821 88580 http://www.ostseeschmuck.de A great excursion destination. Here, an old boat hull can already be admired at the entrance, a pillar with more than 140 kg of amber welcomes you, as well as the largest amber tree in Germany with almost 29,000 amber leaves and Europe's largest amber jewelry exhibition. Hounds are welcome. A circular path leads through the history, past old pictures and documents and videos as well as the workshops, which you can get an insight into here. A very beautifully designed niche invites you to enter.

The Barther Oak had a rare fusion of its main trunk and a branch. This created an opening in the tree through which those seeking healing had to pass. A platform was mounted about three meters below the opening, accessible by a ladder. Because of the usually rapid healing, up to 50 crutches were said to have hung in the tree at one time. The oak's healing powers are believed to have faded by the second half of the 19th century. A shepherd had sent his lame dog through the hole, which was reserved for humans. The opening has also shrunk since then. It's easily missed from the path. It doesn't really stand out as a highlight. The path/road conditions are mediocre.

This was once the site of the pass bridge and the pass keeper's farmstead on the border between Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania. It was originally a wooden drawbridge, then a steel one, as ships on the Recknitz River transported agricultural products, especially salt from the saltworks in Sülze.

Bodstedt Harbor is a cozy, small harbor on the mainland side of the bay. There's a restaurant here, currently open Monday through Sunday, with outdoor seating and moderate prices.

Wonderful view of Lake Ribnitz, which is actually part of the Bodden.

Tip: Take a circular bike tour from Zingst by boat across the Bodden to Barth, then continue to Bodstedt and the small, quaint harbor. There you'll find delicious food and drinks. Super tasty, great service, and absolutely reasonable prices!
