The dinosaur tracks of Barkhausen are a natural monument in a disused quarry in the Linner Berg near Barkhausen on the Hunte, a district of the Lower Saxony municipality of Bad Essen in the district of Osnabrück. On the bedding planes of the rock, which is about 150 million years old (Middle Kimmeridgian), fossil tracks (sequences of fossil footprints) of sauropod and theropod dinosaurs from the late Upper Jurassic (Malm) are exposed.

The Westhaltung branches off at the Nassen Dreieck near Bergeshövede in the Tecklenburger Land region at 50.3 m above sea level without any difference in altitude from the Dortmund-Ems Canal, crosses the foothills of the Teutoburg Forest in the Gravenhorster Schlucht, and then leads east north of the Wiehengebirge. At Bramsche, the Hase river is crossed, and to the south, the Osnabrück diversion canal branches off. In Minden, the Mittelland Canal crosses the Weser river on two trough bridges and forms the Minden Waterway Intersection with two connecting canals. The northern connecting canal contains the old shaft lock and the new Weser lock. The southern connecting canal has two further locks that establish the connection to the industrial harbor. South of the Schaumburg Forest and the Steinhuder Meer, it continues to Seelze near Hanover. Here, the Leinetal valley is crossed by two bridges and a short section between them, where the still existing, but only provisionally used "Alte Fahrt" (Old Route) in its original width was supplemented during the expansion by a "Neue Fahrt" (New Route) built parallel to the north and opened in 1999.[3] Via the Hannover-Linden diversion canal and its Leine connection canal, there is a connection to the Leine and Ihme rivers. Further on, the MLK crosses the north and east of Hanover up to the Anderten lock, which raises the level by 14.70 m.

A viaduct typically consists of several arches, piers, or columns that allow for a smooth alignment and often connect two points at the same level to cross a valley, road, or riverbed. Unlike simple bridges, which span a single obstacle, viaducts are multi-span and can consist of a series of interconnected bridges.

🦆🌅🚶♂️The lake is especially beautiful in the early morning or at sunset, when the sky is reflected in the calm water. It's a perfect place to take a stroll in nature after visiting the Peace Garden.
