Tips from the Community

Guido
August 18, 2026, Hildegard von Bingen Herb and Healing Garden

With great passion and dedication, women from the Hildegard Association Reith, with the help of numerous volunteers and sponsors, have created a beautiful garden: the first show and relaxation garden in Tyrol based on Hildegard von Bingen in Reith im Alpbachtal. The property for it is located on Sonnbichl and was provided free of charge by the municipality of Reith and three surrounding farmers. It is an exceptionally beautiful spot for a garden, framed by tall trees in the background and with a view of the village and the parish church of Reith in the foreground. Numerous medicinal herbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees, based on the teachings of Saint Hildegard, thrive here magnificently. An oasis created for visitors who want to learn about the healing effects of herbs and for all those who seek relaxation and a place of peace in this garden. Numerous seating areas and the splashing of the fountains, the stream, and the small pond invite you to do so.

Entry now costs €4 and you have to go through a turnstile...some of the sayings on the crosses are quite funny...I also find the old crosses with dates and locations very interesting.

After a climb up the 1948 meter high Roßkogel in the Brandenberg Alps, you will be treated to a wonderful view of the valley and the surrounding mountains.
