Lamdrup is a tiny hamlet just east of Svindinge on Funen, mentioned in local trail descriptions as the turn‑around point on a short walking loop from Svindinge Church via the meadows along Sorte Å. Historically it’s a small settlement in Gislev Sogn (with a place‑name recorded as early as 1407) and today is essentially a cluster of farms and houses in open countryside between Svindinge and Gislev.

The old customs house (“Gammel Toldbod”) in Nyborg is located at Havnegade 2 and holds historical significance for the town. Today, the building houses the “Kiropraktorhuset Gammel Toldbod” (Chiropractic Practice Old Customs House). In earlier times, the building served as a customs house. This was because Nyborg was situated on an important waterway, the Great Belt, where ships had long been required to pay tolls to Denmark. The old customs house in Nyborg, like other similar buildings in Denmark, played a crucial role in monitoring shipping traffic to prevent the smuggling of goods. The building in its current form was constructed during a period when these customs controls were of paramount importance.

The marketplace (Torvet) in Nyborg is a historic square with an interesting history. Originally, it was laid out in 1537 by King Christian III as a riding and tournament ground. The Torvet is located near Nyborg Castle. The King bought up houses at the time to create a square that also served as a demarcation from the castle. A statue of King Christian IX stands in the square, created in 1909 by sculptor Hans Peder Pedersen-Dan. Pedersen-Dan is also known for other famous works in Denmark. The square is a central meeting point today. There are shops and restaurants with outdoor seating. In addition, various events take place here throughout the year, often with historical connections, such as the Danehof, an autumn market, or Christmas markets. You will also find the tourist information here.

The Landtor received its current form in 1666 under King Frederik III. The vault, at 40 meters, is the longest barrel vault in Denmark. The superstructure was built by Frederik IV in 1750. The gate was the only official entrance until 1869. When it was closed in the evening, it was no longer possible to enter the city before the next morning. The Landtor was protected by the cannons on the Kronprins Bastion and also by the moat, which ran uninterrupted in front of the gate. In 1764, the wooden bridge in the Lindenallee was replaced by a dam. The trees in the Lindenallee were planted in 1806. https://www.visitnyborg.de/nyborg/reiseplanung/landpforte-nyborg-gdk807063

The water tower at "Dronningens Bastion" is a unique example of contemporary industrial construction, at its best. It was declared worthy of preservation in 1997 and is unique because the sanitary facilities are largely intact. As far as is known, it is the only water tower in Denmark with a preserved water tank made of riveted steel plates. Originally, the city was supplied with drinking water from the castle lake. From here, it was led to the various water taps in the city in hollowed-out oak logs, connected by iron sleeves. Three generations of the Kjellerup family ensured for over 100 years that the system worked. During excavations in the city, you still often encounter the oak logs and a few are kept in the castle's cellar. Such a water supply was of course not very hygienic and after the cholera epidemic, the city council discussed several times the construction of an actual waterworks. The first waterworks was based on groundwater drillings and was inaugurated in 1872. It was located below the water tower and was a larger building complex. To provide enough space, part of the moat was filled with sand. However, the waterworks was demolished again and the moat has now regained its original appearance. The water tower measures 22.4 meters from the terrain to the roof peak. Measured from the inside, it is 24 meters high, for comparison, the "Rundetårn" in Copenhagen is 36 meters high. https://www.visitnyborg.de/nyborg/reiseplanung/der-wasserturm-der-dronningens-bastion-gdk761912
