It was really fun to try out the old bikes. A lovely opportunity to take a short break, have coffee and cake, and look around the old house a bit.

Emmaus Church is a free parish church in Kerteminde with a branch in Dalby. It was built in 1868 and consecrated on January 24, 1869. The builder was Hansen from Svendborg. The church is a yellow brick building in the shape of a cross with a jagged gables and a tower. The altarpiece is by J.P. Bless from 1869 and depicts the disciples in Emmaus after Marstrand's painting of the Fåborg Church. A beautiful granite baptismal font is located in the church. There is a garden surrounding the church, which also houses the rectory. A memorial plaque on the church wall states the following: Ole Henrik Svane lived here from 1814 to 1825. He dedicated his work to the blessing of Christian life in Kerteminde and the surrounding area. The congregation, which erected this memorial to him, bears witness to this. The plaque originally hung above the door of the house at Langegade 39. However, it was removed when the house was remodeled. The congregation wanted to preserve the plaque and therefore placed it next to the church. Muusgården was built in the 1820s and served as a merchant's house until the mid-1970s. Skænkestuen (the barroom), part of the farm, was established in 1829 and is a cozy oasis for thirsty drinkers. https://www.visitkerteminde.de/kerteminde/reiseplanung/stadtwanderung-kerteminde-gdk739040

St. Lawrence's Church is located in the middle of Kerteminde's market square. The nave of the three-aisled church is located under a massive roof structure. According to records, the church was built in 1476. Major structural changes were made in the 17th century – the church received a vault and the interior was renovated. On the south side of the choir is the burial chapel of the Iuel family; on the opposite wall is a plaque commemorating two of the church's pastors. A pair of knight's boots and a sword from the time of the Swedish War are on display. https://www.visitkerteminde.de/kerteminde/reiseplanung/kerteminde-kirche-skt-laurentii-kirche-gdk613548

Munkebo Bakke A Viking Age power centre with perhaps the most beautiful view of Funen and the experience is free. On the Munkebo hill lived a family of Viking kings from Funen. Archaeological excavations have proven a settlement here, a power centre from the late Iron Age and Viking Age (approx. 550-950 AD) on the hilltop. Several Viking Age houses, pit houses and a mighty "king's hall" surrounded by a strong wooden wall have been found. From here, the king of Ladby could control the surrounding landscape with views of Odense Fjord, Kertinge Nor and the Great Belt. At the top of the viewing tower, you are 58 m above sea level, and you have fantastic views in all directions. The Viking Age and the region's history are told through posters at the info house or can be experienced playfully. In the info house, there is a toilet with accessibility. The hill has many tables/benches where you can enjoy your own food or coffee in the most beautiful surroundings. https://www.visitkerteminde.dk/kerteminde/planlaeg-din-tur/munkebo-bakke-gdk739069
