The quality of the food has unfortunately declined. The dishes are served quite quickly and are obviously pre-cooked and reheated (microwave?).

Between March and October, scheduled trips are offered several times a day with the ships "Luise" and "Freiherr von Münchhausen II". The journey begins here at the landing stage in the lower harbor of the Old Ship Lift, near the entrance to the over 400-year-old Finow Canal. After the lift has been completed, the ship turns around in the upper harbor area and returns to the starting point after the downward journey. The main ticket office of SHW Fahrgastschifffahrt can be found in the tourist information office in the power house. Source and online tickets: https://www.schifffahrt-niederfinow.de/

Some comments here describe the small bridge that leads directly over the lock a few meters further on. This wooden bridge here is absolutely level and can possibly even be ridden over. It leads over the outflow from the Schützenwehr (formerly the southern lock basin).

The mill was expanded by the Cistercians and developed into a large workshop, which served as a machine hall and, in addition to milling grain, also facilitated other production processes such as hammering, stamping, and oil-making. The buildings were constructed of granite ashlars, which are still clearly visible today. The mill building was probably originally four stories high and designed as a four-wheel mill with four openings for waterwheel shafts.

Regular cultural events take place, including the popular "Chorin Music Summer," special and art exhibitions, and guided tours. A permanent exhibition, opened in April 2017, provides information about the life and work of the monks, as well as historical discovery and monument preservation efforts. A free app called "Chorin Monastery 3D - At the Time of the Cistercians" allows for a digital exploration of the complex.
