Heidenburg Castle once stood on a ridge at the mouth of the Mußbach stream where it flows into the Rhine plain. Nothing is known about the castle today. It is believed to date back to the 9th century and, based on its name, to have belonged to a non-Christian group. A plateau remains of the castle, now traversed by a hiking trail, and a stone bearing the castle's name marks its location. The outline of a ring wall or rampart is still roughly discernible. Source: https://burgenarchiv.de/ The Ritterstein (Knight's Stone) can be found by standing on the path in front of the castle ruins with your back to Gimmeldingen. Then, walk a few steps along the left side, which is at a 90° angle to the path.
