It is incredible that in this type of terrain, no matter how enthusiastic and helpful all the locals were (this is even more incredible: kudos to the people there), someone broke through an impressive 57km long trail and in just, mind you: 3 years!!! From 1930 to 1933. It was built by Ante Premužić and created a masterpiece of architecture, protected as a cultural asset of national importance. If anyone is interested in the details about the trail (they are truly impressive): https://np-sjeverni-velebit.hr/www/hr/park/premuziceva-staza It is incredible that the view of Velebit from the sea does not offer even a hundredth part of that magnificent mountain. There are gentle, green pastures, forest-covered parts, vertical stone cliffs... Something for everyone. This trail has everything for everyone, and the most fascinating fact is that it is easy to overcome because it goes along the top part, especially in the direction from Zavižan. We left our car in Krasno in front of the Velebit House. Why did we stop at the Velebit House and not drive all the way to the parking lot below Zavižan? Namely, that section is too long for one day because we would have to cover 30km, which is really too much. That's where Mr. Dragec stepped in, who has been organizing rides for hikers for years who want to cross various sections of Velebit and want to go through and see as much as possible (like us) but don't want to sleep halfway but return the same day. Mr. Dragec picked us up at the Velebit House in Krasno and took us to the parking lot on Zavižan, from where we headed towards PD Alan where he was waiting for us and from PD Alan he took us to Krasno to the car. Elegant, comfortable and we also saw additional landscapes along the way. Dragec transport: https://www.dragec-prijevoz.hr/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/dragecccc

The trail mostly runs through shady forest. While steep, it's not difficult. Only shortly before the summit does the path become somewhat rockier. Once at the top, a wonderful panorama awaits hikers.

Near the trail, a gentle uphill climb to the top offers a beautiful view of the Kukovi rocks, the Adriatic Sea and islands.
