Zavižan Hut

Occupying a beautiful meadow below the summit slopes of Vučjak, the Zavižan hut makes for a great pit stop when exploring the peaks of the Northern Velebit. It acts as a weather station and is the highest continuously inhabited building in Croatia. The hut enjoys splendid views towards the Adriatic and of the Zavižan basin.

Hike in the Northern Velebit National Park to Zavižan. There is a weather station where you can also buy drinks.

Great tour with fantastic views. Halfway, you end up at a mountain hut where you can take a break and where you will have the best views over the whole panorama. Overall a very versatile route with forest bits and open plains, mountain peaks and fantastic views. Easy hiking and relatively quick.
