The Avenue de Champagne in Épernay is a prestigious 1.6-kilometer-long avenue known as the "richest avenue in the world" for its millions of bottles of champagne in underground cellars. Along the avenue are famous champagne houses, historic villas, gardens, and two listed monuments: the City Hall and Château Perrier. The avenue is the city's main tourist attraction and the scene of events such as the "Soirée Blanche" and "Habits de Lumière." Since 2015, the avenue has been part of the Champagne UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 2015, the champagne house De Venoge established itself in a stately villa on the prestigious Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. This elegant residence, dating from 1900 and now a luxury hotel, is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guests can enjoy the house's champagnes in the stylish bar, while the wine shop presents a selection of the most exceptional and oldest vintages. In front of the mansion stands a statue of King Louis XV, the French monarch who played a key role in the development of champagne as we know it today. Under his reign, Champagne was the first—and at the time, only—wine region in France to be permitted to sell and transport wine in bottles instead of barrels. Because fermentation in the bottle was not yet complete, carbon dioxide (CO₂) was created, giving birth to the first sparkling champagnes.

Perrier-Jouët is a champagne house founded in 1811 by Pierre-Nicholas-Marie Perrier. The company is located in Épernay and has a house style characteristic of the city. Épernay is located near the Côte des Blancs, a region primarily planted with Chardonnay, and therefore uses a lot of Chardonnay in its champagnes. Source: Wikipedia

In 2015, De Venoge moved to a stately building on Avenue de Champagne in Epernay. The manor house, built in 1900, has been converted into a luxury hotel and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The house's champagnes are served in the stylish bar, and the wine shop showcases the house's most exceptional and oldest vintages. In front of the manor house stands a statue of Louis XV, the French king who significantly contributed to the development of modern champagnes. Under his regime, Champagne was the first and only French wine region permitted to sell and transport wine in bottles instead of barrels. The under-fermentation of the wine created CO2 in the bottle, and with that, the first champagnes were born! (c) https://www.deltawines.eu/nl_NL/de-venoge/
