Not much fun either up or down. 😂 Great view from the top and a bench on which to take 5 minutes on. Lovely quiet smooth road follows on to Stockbridge parallel to the Test Way

I liked Winchester, historic but not overrun and easy to bike into and out of.

Particularly impressive are the high vaults and the historic artworks that adorn the church. The interior exudes a serene and dignified atmosphere, inviting you to linger. The cathedral is a significant cultural and religious center, reflecting both history and spirituality. This lovely crossing over the River Test takes you through beautiful countryside. There are several interlinking rivers in the area, so you can expect to cross a few more along the way.

One of the best little roads whichever direction it’s ridden. Watch out for traffic bombing the other way though.

Overwhelmingly beautiful architecture especially the interior. Note that there is a charge to go in, but you can get a sense of the interior my walking in the doorway a meter or two (before going through to purchase ticket). You can donate (as we did) should you wish to. Nov/Dec one of the best Christmas markets in the UK is held here on the grounds . Highly recommend
