A decent enough area with a trig pointed top. One of many trig points along the South Downs Way.

Really lovely circuit with a great variety of terrain and landscapes, did it January on gravel bikes and the trail was proper muddy in places, also leafy, gravelly, you name it. Added a diversion to the RAF memorial to the site of a crashed Dambusters Lancaster from where there are lovely views south to the coast and the IoW. Recommended.

The Lancaster crashed in poor visibility on 13 February 1944, killing all 8 people on board. The previous evening it had taken part in special operations in Southern France. Aiming to return to the squadron's base in Lincolnshire, the plane took off from Ford airfield, near Arundel. Unfortunately, it was unable to gain sufficient height and crashed in low cloud and fog at the highest point of the downs.

Lovely little church in a beautiful valley in the South Downs described as "the church in the field". This tiny grade I listed twelfth century church has a parish population of just 14.

Nice hills. Perfect gravel conditions in the dry, worth using a MTB or mudguards in the wet!
