Torr Mill: Owned by the Schofield family, this mill was constructed in 1794. Originally five stories tall, it burned down in 1912. The Community Hydro Scheme turbine now uses its old waterwheel housing. The mill was used for cotton spinning and later linen manufacture

Buxton's historic Pavilion Gardens date back to 1871 and are a delight to explore. There's a miniature railway, a boating lake, fountains, galleries and even a whisky shop. The River Wye runs through its heart.

Gateway to the Goyt Valley, Whaley Bridge benefits from a great range of hiking options. Strolls along the Goyt or the Peak Forest Canal are wonderfully serene, while moorland adventures can be had to the popular Windgather Rocks. There are several pubs, restaurants and cafes in the town, while its also connected by rail to Manchester via the Buxton Line.

It is a great vantage point to see the "Meeting of the waters" where the two rivers join. The bridge is located close to the Torrs Riverside park, so it is possible to combine visits. Take time to appreciate the engineering of the bridge, and the surrounding natural beauty. The bridge and surrounding area, is a great place to take photographs.
