I can't say anything about the beer garden. The highlight for me is the Lister Turm! "Originally, the Lister Turm was a watchtower of the medieval Hanoverian Landwehr (first mentioned in 1387). […] The old buildings, the associated forester's lodge, and the tower were demolished in the mid-19th century and replaced in 1895 at the edge of the forest by a romanticizing replica by Hermann Schaedtler. In the spring of 1933, the National Socialists operated an unofficial prison with a torture cellar in the building. A memorial plaque today commemorates the prisoners and victims. […] Today, the tower serves as a district center for the state capital Hanover. Next to it is a beer garden." https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lister_Turm

A bit haughty service that would like to see the past quality maintained from the past...

Can you still find deer like these in the forest? Or just the bronze copy?

The Bischofshol underpass is a striking crossing point in the southern Eilenriede in Hanover. It serves to go under the Messeschnellweg (A37/B3) and connects the districts of Bult and Südstadt with the lower-lying forest area around the Bischofshol forest restaurant.
