First mentioned as a castle at the end of the 12th century, Penkun Castle is today one of the last remaining castles of the Pomeranian Dukes. The castle association runs a border and customs museum in the former administrator's house, and there is a small exhibition on the judicial system in Pomerania in the castle cellar.

The first mention of the church dates back to 1261. The church was destroyed by fire seven times, the last one in 1854. The current church was built in the years 1858-1862. The organ was installed in 1863. Neo-Gothic church. The main altar and the altar cross were made in 1962 by the painter Lothar Mannewitz from Rostock. The single-manual organ in the gallery was made by the Szczecin organ builder Barnim Grüneberg. In 1917 the front pipes were requisitioned for war purposes. They were restored in 1959
