A pünte is a historic ferry, more specifically a hand-pulled wagon ferry, which was particularly common in northern Germany, especially in East Frisia, and is still used in some cases today. It is often connected by a rope or chain attached to both banks, or is moved by a rope pulled by a crank or a horse on the bank.
