May 2, 2026, Drottninggatan – Main Shopping Street in Norrmalm

Not really a highlight in my view - rather standard stores, boring architecture and typically crowded.

Nice view over the mostly busy harbour for water tours and commuting.

Master Michael Street is located in the eastern part of the Southern Hills (Södermalm) in Stockholm. It stretches from St. Catherine's Church (Katarina Kyrka) across Cornelius Park at the Glassworks Cliff (Glasbruks klippan) to Renstiernasgatan. The name of the neighborhood, "Mäster Mikael," comes from Michael Reissuer, the city executioner from 1635 to 1650; "Mäster" was a common title for an executioner in Sweden. Master Michael and his assistants carried out executions on Galgberget (Stigberget), where they also captured stray pigs and dogs and skinned horses. Master Michael took up his post on February 3, 1635, and remained in office for almost exactly 15 years. He worked so hard during these years that he was able to buy a house for his family near Renstiernas Street. In January 1650, Michael, who had previously been convicted of harboring a man banished from the city, allowed Paul Andersson back into the city and home. Andersson and Michael drank vodka and got into an argument. Michael fetched a sword, and during the scuffle, according to Michael, Andersson impaled himself on the blade. But the court didn't believe him, and on March 20, Michael's head fell on the blade, and his life was history." as it is written: https://nordstjernan.com/news/travel/6561
