Rococo-style ballroom, 1754, west tower with onion dome, lower parts late Gothic, dated 1530. The portal, which today leads from the gallery into the tower, was probably once the outer gate of the predecessor church, which was first mentioned in 1193 and severely damaged in 1690 during the Palatinate War of Succession. The architect of the new building was Johann Georg Hotter. In 1787, an organ with 25 registers was ordered from Johann Georg Geib. In 1955, the marbling inside the church was carried out true to the original. The paintings all date from 1754 by the Landau painter Georg Menges.

The German Gate – alternatively called Untertor, formerly designated Porte d’Allemagne. The gate, which was built between 1688 and 1691, together with its southern counterpart – the identically designed French Gate – forms one of the two remaining remnants of the main wall of the Landau fortress. Until well into the 19th century, it was merely one of two possibilities to leave or enter the city.

The Deutsche Tor is one of the most striking historical buildings in Landau in der Pfalz – and practically the best-known relic of the old fortress city. It appears rather quiet and almost inconspicuous today, if you don't know what it is. That's precisely what makes it interesting: A piece of military history in the middle of everyday life.

Beautiful little castle, which a Bavarian king, fond of the Palatinate, had built as a summer residence in the vineyards above Roth near Riedburg. Great eye-catcher and a popular photo motif.

These vines are truly veterans: The "Rhodter Rosengarten" is already over 400 years old – and still produces wine. According to oral tradition, the vineyard in the wine village of Rhodt unter Rietburg is said to have existed even before the Thirty Years' War, which took place from 1618 to 1648. This makes the Rosengarten the oldest still-producing vineyard in the Palatinate – if not the world. To this day, 300 vines stand on the approximately 600 square meter area, mostly Traminer vines with individual Silvaner stocks in between. Who planted them is not known. However, wine was probably grown in Rhodt unter Rietburg as early as Roman times – in any case, the place has been known for its Traminer since the Middle Ages. Today it seemed deserted, but it must be very busy here in the summer.
