St. Augustine A very beautiful church. Rather plain on the outside, but worth seeing inside with its special atmosphere.

The small village church originally comes from Klein Escherde (Hildesheim district) and was rebuilt here in the museum village in Cloppenburg in 1977. The old church from 1699 with its basic dimensions of just seven by fifteen meters became too small for the community of Klein Escherde in the 1970s and they decided to build a new one. The museum village was thus able to take over the half-timbered building dedicated to the Holy Family with some of its inventory. All the pews, the tower clock with its heavy iron clockwork, the confessional, the harmonium and the 14 station pictures can therefore still be seen in the rebuilt building today. Of course, the building has already undergone a number of changes in its long life in Klein Escherde. This can be seen in the iron windows that were installed in the late 19th century as evidence of the industrial age. https://museumsdorf.de/visit/haeuser/kirche-aus-klein-escherde/
