St. John's Church in Liebenstein was built in 1841 by Duke Ernst of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, replacing an earlier structure. In April 1945, American artillery fire destroyed the tower, which was rebuilt in 1961.

The Röderschlösschen (Röder Castle) was built around 1750 by Baron von Röder, who only used it for a year. In 1850, it came into the possession of the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who used it as his headquarters. The building was later used as an administrative building and prison until 1920.
